Birds and animals act strangely before the onset of an earthquake of a tsunami have been recorded for many years. Chickens quit laying eggs, caged birds becoming very nervous has been noticed before an earthquake. Wild animals act strangely also by running and in some areas fleeing into the deepest part of the jungle. This unusual behavior has been studied in the seismically active Japan and China. If a link could be proven, the animals and birds could be used to predict earthquakes. But no such link has been confirmed.
